Created to Be

Mark 10

Lord Jesus, Father God, thank you for my wife. You have given me a soft heart for her. In marriage to her, I have left my former way of life, and I have been joined to her. We have become one flesh. What you have joined together, Lord, will not be separated.

With joy and awestruck reverence, I receive your kingdom, Father. I desperately need you as God, Lord, and Savior. Without you, I would be dead, but with you, I have abundant, eternal life.

I leave lands and times and people to follow you, Lord Jesus. I take up the cross and follow you, for your sake and the sake of your gospel. I receive so much from you now and in the age to come. I receive places to live, mothers, fathers, children, land, all my needs and many desires, as well. I am humbled by your love and provision, Lord.

Even you, the Son of a Man, did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give your life a ransom for many.

Fill me, Holy Spirit, and lead me that I will be a servant like my Lord Jesus; that I will be slave to all that you want of me, Father, that I will be the man of God whom you created me to be!

Live and Find

Mark 9; 2 Corinthians 10; Mark 9

Lord God, thank you that you have seasoned me with fire and with salt. You have broken up my hard ground and cleansed me of my fleshly lust.

Your word fills my mind now, and I am able to take my thoughts captive to you, Lord Jesus. I am able to live in your truth and find rest, even in the midst of a foolish and perverse world system.

I desire to be a servant to all whom you have given to me. I receive these folks and these times in your name. I try to share physical and spiritual things with them. I pray they will come to see you as the Christ, and they will see our father, who sent you, as Almighty, glorious God.

I watch what I take hold of and where I go and what I look at, so that I do not sin. I am in your kingdom, Lord Jesus. You hold me close.

Holy Spirit, keep me and lead me and teach me. You are the salt within me, and I am at peace.

I Will Be With You

Mark 8

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your compassion on me and for your grace to me. You feed me and save me with your word. You are the bread of life.

You have given me a new heart, soft and looking to your will. You have opened my eyes that I can see and my ears that I can hear. You have done good and supernatural things in me.

I am aware of the lies and temptations of false teachers and of world leaders. I am not deceived by these sinful and temporary distractions.

You, Lord Jesus, are the Christ, the only begotten Son of God. You are my savior, and you are my Lord. I am mindful of your things, Lord, and not mindful of the things of men. I deny myself. I take up my cross, and I follow you.

With joy and peace, I offer up my life for your sake, Lord Jesus, and for the gospel of our father, and you save my life. When you come in the glory of your father, and with your holy angels, I will be with you!

To All Generations

Ephesians 3

Today I bow my knees to you, Father. You are the father of my Lord Jesus Christ. Your Holy Spirit has brought me to life, and the grace of the Lord Jesus has justified and reconciled me. In your love, Father, you have adopted me. Now I am part of your family in heaven and on earth. I am a Christian.

In accord with the riches of your grace, you have strengthened my inner man with might, through your spirit. Christ dwells in my heart through faith.

I am rooted and grounded in your love and able to comprehend, with all your saints, just how long and wide and deep and high is your sovereign love. I know the love of Christ, and I know it is supernatural. It passes human knowledge

I am filled with all your fullness, Father, and I see that you do in my life, exceedingly abundant, eternal, glorious things, by your person, who works in me.

In that sweet spot of your perfection and protection, I give glory to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, to all generations, forever and ever.

I See and I Know

John 6; Mark 4

In your word, and by your spirit’s living presence in me, Father, I see Jesus, and I know he is your son. It is your will that I have everlasting life, and I know you will raise me up in the last days. I believe in the Lord Jesus, and I have everlasting life.

Now your kingdom is in me like a seed. It started out small, but you have seen that it grows, first the blade, then the head, and then the full grain.

You have sown your word in me. You have broken the hard ground and made my heart good ground. By your grace, in faith, I hear your word; I feed on your word, and I bear the fruit of your Holy Spirit, thirty, sixty, and one hundred fold.

And Rose Again

2 Corinthians 5&4

Lord Jesus, good morning! Today my aim is to be well pleasing to you. You died to save me, and so I died, and now I live to you. I no longer live for myself, instead, I live for you, who died for me and rose again.

Now your Holy Spirit fills me like a treasure in an earthen vessel. I know the excellent power who now dwells in me is from you. He is not there by my good works, rather he is there by your grace.

So I am always carrying about in my body, the dying of my fleshly lust that the new man of Christ will manifest in my life.

I know that God, our father, who raised up you, Lord Jesus, from the dead, will also raise me up with you and present me with you to himself. Glory and thanksgiving to you, Father

Now, even though my outward man is perishing, yet my inward man is renewed day by day. My earthly body is just a tent. In this, I sometimes groan earnestly desiring to be clothed with the heavenly habitation you have prepared for me, Father.

Then mortality will be swallowed up with immortality, swallowed up with your divine, eternal life, Father, prepared for me by you. To be absent from this body is to be present with you, my great God and father!

Loving and Infinite

Psalm 51

I know, Father, that in my awful past, I transgressed against you, and my sins are ever before me. I was so wrong. I was an ungrateful lunatic. My sin was against you, and you only. I did evil in your sight with selfish stubbornness.

You spoke hard to me, and you were just to do that. You judged me foul, and your judgment was correct and without blame. I was broken by your word and your spirit, and I confessed my sin.

In your great grace, you had mercy on me, Father. In loving kindness and infinite mercy, you blotted out my transgression.

In faith, you put me in Christ Jesus and credited me with his righteousness. His blood washed me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleansed me from my sin.

I am born again, and you have created in me a new heart, a clean heart, oh Lord. You have renewed a steadfast spirit within me. I do not turn back.

You have filled me with your Holy Spirit. I am filled with the unspeakable joy of your salvation.

You are the God of my salvation. My tongue sings out of your righteousness. My heart is broken and contrite before you, but in your perfect love, you have healed me and lifted me back up, with your encouragement!

Grace That Saves

Psalm 68; 1 Corinthians 6; Colossians 3

Good morning, Father, you are the God of the Church of your son, my Lord, Jesus, your Christ. You give strength and power to your people.

You march us through the wilderness and the earth shakes.

You are among us, Lord Jesus. You have led captivity captive, and you have ascended on high. All of us who are yours, Lord, are glad, and we sing praises to your name.

Blessed be your name, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You daily load us with benefits. You are the God of Salvation. You are the Lord of Life and the Conqueror over death, hell, and the grave.

You, Lord Jesus, have brought me back from sin and shame. You have bought me back from slavery to sin. Now I belong to you. I am no longer my own. I have been bought at a price of your precious blood, Lord Jesus, and given credit for your perfect righteousness.

Hallelujah! By your grace that saves, I am complete in you, my Lord.

New Eternal Man

Mark 1; John 3&14; Mark 2

Father, thank you for the gift of faith to believe your gospel. Lord Jesus, thank you for baptizing me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that, by your person and power, I am born again, and my mind is renewed.

I have repented, and I believe the gospel. The kingdom of God has come for me and lives in me. I know that you, Lord Jesus, are the Christ, the holy one sent by God, our father.

You have cleansed me and set me apart for your purposes. I testify of you, and I glorify your name and your personal presence with me.

By your grace, through faith, you have forgiven my sins, because you, Lord Jesus, are God. Now I rise up from my old fleshy ways. I reckon myself dead to sin, and I live in the new, eternal man, who you have placed in me, through your spirit

Now I live in joyous peace. I am quick to repent. You, Lord Jesus, are my way and my truth and my life. You are the new Sabbath for me. You are the Lord of the “rest for all ages”.

In All Godliness and Reverence

Isaiah 49; 1 Timothy 2

Hallelujah, you, Father, are my savior. You are my redeemer. You are the mighty one. In your grace, you saved me with your salvation.

In your own council, you chose me, and I found favor with you. You keep me and give me a covenant to guarantee your promises. You give me an inheritance with you forever, kept in heaven for me.

You called me out of darkness. You said, “appear”, and I turned toward you, born again by your Holy Spirit.

You provide food for me all along the way. Even in bare hard times, you give my soul and body pasture. I do not hunger or thirst. Neither does scorching wind or sun strike me.

Your Holy Spirit loves me and cares for me. He leads me to springs of water. He guides me through problems and makes them smooth out like a highway.

I sing for joy to you and of you, Father. I exalt you with every breath. I break forth in singing. You comfort me and pour compassion on me. You always think of me, and you never forsake me.

I live a quiet and peaceful life, in all godliness and reverence.
